Jawaher Al-Amouri

I am Jawaher Al-Amouri
Syria from the city of Hama.
I started 2021 which is supposed to be the year of my graduation from university like all my peers
But I’m not a college student so I entered the year with depression and stress that I couldn’t do anything to
At the beginning of the second month of the year, I heard about an organization running an empowerment organization that was doing trainings from George Mason University, and it was the straw that would save me from what I was in. The training dealt with conflict resolution, negotiations, peacemaking, elections, mobilization campaigns, advocacy, transitional justice, and some psychological support exercises that really polished my character. It was not just a training
We worked on a real advocacy campaign and succeeded in stopping the closure of the crossings
The spirit of the family added something that I was missing. Today I am a second person. The trainers are tired of us. We are also tired of ourselves and we found the fruit of this fatigue. Praise be to God. We graduated in 2021 and I wore a graduation gown with my colleagues, so I volunteered in this organization and exclusively for this training, which gave me a new life, they watered a dead plant inside me and I came back for life
I came out of a person who does not know the meaning of elections other than the name of a person who is able to be an election observer and helped my friends to supervise the student union elections. I was also able to lead an advocacy campaign and sit confidently at a negotiating table in addition to my colleagues and I wrote a graduation project that could be a huge and effective project On the ground, I became more flexible in dealing with myself and those around me. Hence the beginning. This is the first step for many steps and successes, God willing.
I learned that a dream remains a dream if we set it as a specific goal and my dreams today have become goals!
This is not my success story, it is a family success story
